Model pimpage Thread

Sometimes I feel like showing off another render, but a new topic isnt always worth it. Much like the Map Pimpage thread, show off your latest models here.

i agree, making a new thread for 1 little render is useless and if you wanna show wips iot would be good

Sooo smoooooth. I love mentalray. Im not the best at lighting setup and MentalRay always seems to make my renders look so much better, with much less tweaking.

Caustics in mentalray rock also. The dielectric shader (non-conductive materials ie- glass) which is only in mental ray makes some amazing glass shaders.

I can roll with this thread.

I used to love making topics with my work, then I realized no-one else was doing it so I felt like an ass.

This gives me a chance to pimp this ride:

Image

I posted it before but removed it cause it wasnt appropriate to post my own WIP in someone elses post.

The car reference is a Maclaren LM from Suurlands site: http://www.suurland.com/

The model looks cool, but has many problems. The surfaces are mostly bi-rails which are done by making a start curve shap, an end curve shape, and 2 "rail" curves to make a NURBS surface. I modelled this after watching Gnomon Workshops DVD: NURBS Modeling 3: GTP Race Car. Its an awesome video and I would recommend anything from Gnomon.

I wish there was a m16 in CS:S. Set 3 round burst, and on alternate fire change it to single shot...just like a real m16

I still need to finish this (more mix in the textures, couple other things here and there) but I'm gonna make a whole Ghostbusters scene, with a proton pack, when I get the chance.
