My best friend and the love of my life, Mongo

Image

I was taking pictures of her while she slept at 3 or 4 am, flash woke her up and I took this really cute one where shes sooo tired so I drew it with marker.

(god damn my old-ass scanner is rediculously awesome [was cheap too], original scan was 28079 x 24000 pixels!)

Cool dog...did you draw over the pic or is it some kind of filter?

thanks, shes the best dog ever :D

I used photoshop to clone stamp her tail in (was under couch cushion), erase background, and then I used the pallete knife filter, which basically reduces it to fewer tones and shapes.

THEN

I rubbed graphite (pencil) on the back and drew with a pencil ontop of picture, while it was sitting on my good paper. This transferred an outline of the basic shapes (but not the subtle variations) generated by the pallate knife filter.

THEN

I did it up with some nice warm gray markers. I could never do it completely freehand :D
