Just make an episode 2 mod called "Particle Editor" and add -tools to it and boom it's standalone!

wow, this particle editor is epic. I'll upload some of my stuff later, but you can create some really dramatic and stylized results. Playing with the editor is making me rethink particles in general, they're alot more involved than getting a bunch of sprites to render at the same time.

This is confusing... Haha. First of all I forgot to add an info_particle_system into my map, and now I don't know what I'm doing...

I added one, and saved it into my tf2 particle folder, even copy/pasted the name of the system. Then in console it tells me my particle effect doesnt exist, when the file is in the right spot... I check ed with GCFScape just ot be triple sure...

I made something I think... Then after I made an emitter, it wouldn't let me make any other things like operators and such. I'll just wait until there's a good tutorial out. The Facepunch thread on Page 6 is actually getting some facts down, so those will be useful.
