Fire shader in UDK for Mist of Stagnation. Could probably use a little bit of work, but its practically done. Really satisfied with it. Oh and I know the flames are a little bit quick going upward. I'll fix it later.

The heat wave wouldn't start that low. The base of a flame is actually pretty cold compared to the tip. Looking good, though. Could use some more bloom - more of a bright centre.

Heatwave should be the size of the flame and like Archie said, on top of the flame. Otherwise, awesome!

Yeah, i really just slapped the heatwave on it as this is just a test particle to make sure materials work. But I really don't know if i could add more glow to it through the fire texture without getting graphical errors due to overly high coloring. In the final particle I am going to add a glow to the center and outside of it with a separate system that glows. Thanks ^^.

Fixed heatwave, made the fire have a better orange tint, and added a glow around it. The glow is a bit too strong for my taste, however, it's not as intense ingame.

Yeah the glow only seems like it would be that intense if you had blown up the HDR for a second otherwise it's like perfect imo.

Got UV distortion to finally work, and created a better mask.
Just note the fire is extremely huge in this effect simply because its replicating something huge burning.
