Bone collision model shot effect [bug?]

Postby Dudi on Sun May 08, 2011 6:45 am

Hi again maybe in this you can help me:

I created 6 bones for multiple skins to use $joinsurfanceprop. Exported model looks good (fine?) and collision model looks good (fine?). But in game when i shot bones selected in 3ds and QC, always see metal sparks even i shot to carpet surfance:

qc:
Code: Select all
$modelname   "dm_hala/kosz_konstrukcja.mdl"
$body kosz_konstrukcja "kosz_konstrukcja.smd"
$collisionmodel "kosz_konstrukcja_hull.smd" {

$concave
$automass

}
$jointsurfaceprop "bone1" "carpet"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone2" "carpet"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone3" "carpet"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone4" "carpet"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone5" "metal"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone6" "metal"
$jointsurfaceprop "bone7" "carpet"
$cdmaterials "dm_hala/models/uzytki_hala"
$sequence idle "kosz_konstrukcja" loop fps 30

Again i selected in this image carpet surfance but when shot i see metal surfance sparks not carpet.

PS.
Sorry for poor eng.

I'm pretty confident that the collisionbone properties only effect their physical traits, like buoyancy, mass, and whatever else.

If you want that part of the model to have different impact effects, you'll have to apply a different texture to it, and the texture will need to have different surfaceproperties.

Also, Do not bump your posts so quickly.

Ok but i have 2 different textures in 1 model. Model get surfance prop from QC no from vmt file. Your suggestion maybe be good when separate model to metal elements and carpet elements. This is not perfect solution for me.
