HHH's glow not changing?

I'm trying to modify the HHH particles so that they have a green effect instead of a purple one, and it's worked on all of them- except for one. The glow around the body (the purple fire thing) doesn't seem to want to change, even though the color is changed under 'halloween_boss_shape_glow'. Also, the preview won't render for some reason.

Is there a different particle somewhere that's handling the glow?

Are they actual particles(pcf) or regular sprites(vmt/vtf)?

I don't know where it would be if it wasn't a particle...the fact that there's one particle that's called 'halloween_boss_shape_glow' is kinda obvious. The material for that particle is some kind of generic glow.
