Art Tutorials

Postby Spartan on Sat Aug 20, 2005 1:50 pm

I thought I'd list some of my all time favorite art sites that have some great tutorials for beginners and expterts. If you see a good site that I have not posted please feel free to post it yourself.

These tuts are mostly for drawing and digital painting but also include some things on modeling and traditional artwork.

there are thousands of sites like that, but at the end they jsut teach how to achieve a certain effect. When you want to create something you jsut need to know the tools and use your imagination, and there arent any tuts for that ;)

Photoshop Cafe Has some fantastic tutorials for photoshop. But really the only place that I learn much more about photoshop now s from the people at photoshopuser.com. I get a subscription to their magazine now, and access to their site. :-D It's about $100 to join I believe but this is pro stuff, and I can still glean niffty little bits of info from their tutorials.

You know, Kenshi, that for anyone to recommend tutorials we need to know what modeling package you're using.

It's baffling, how often people do this. Just baffling.

Oh, so you already know how to unwrap your models, and now you want to learn how to texture them in Photoshop? If that's the case then my bad. I've never come across a free video of someone showing you step by step how to texture a model, but I'm sure that if you were willing to dish out $50 or so, you could buy one of Noesis' or Digital Tutors' videos on how to do it. Or just google "photoshop tutorials" and use the things you learn from those to help with your texturing.
