ReWolfenstein 3D mod

Postby Andriska_hun on Fri Feb 12, 2010 4:23 pm

Hi!

My mod is under construction, but now I have 2 problems, and I cannot fix them.

1. I made custom 3D model for the doors, but (as you can see on the first pic) the light can go through on the model. This is a big problem, because the AI can see through too...

How can I disable this "type of transparency"? (is it just a qc command?)

2. After the eadth of an NPC, his collision is ending. I would like to keep it, because it would be great if the closing door could "play" with the corpse...

3. And one another important thing: I need a new coder! (we use HL2 engine)

Thank you!

Does the door have a collision model?

There's a dude in the model, not so obvious.

Can you tell me more about these "vmt-commands"?

well, its just a guess.

you can set material preferences (how its going to become rendered, abilities ect.) in the vmt-files. here you go:

list of shader parameters: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki ... Parameters
what a material is...: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Material

I don't understand it... The model viewer says this model is opaque.. It's true that the model is opaque, but only for the player...

Try a block light textured brush? But then it's gonna look weird because the light just stops.

What do you mean exactly? Buld the door from brushes?

Make a brush in the door way the size of the doorway, then texture it with the "block light" texture under the /tools/ directory in textures.

However, if you open the door, the ground won't show any light on it.

Can't belive it! It doesn't work. I made a brush with that Block Light texture and converted it into entity. When I used it like func_physbox, tha game crashed. If I used like something else (for ex. func_brush), the light goes through on it.. :| :| :| :| :|
