Setting up mod for Css

Postby aidas2 on Wed Jul 21, 2010 7:16 am

Hello all, I'm fairly new to Source modding, I've seen tutorials on how to set up mods for Hl2, but nothing for Css. If anyone could do a little tutorial of what needs to be done I would highly appreciate and is there a tutorial on how to add floating icons over players head like in DOD:S just for Css? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

That's an incredibly complex thing to do for someone who is new to modding.

CSS's source code is not available to us, modders can't make new games based off of that engine.

However, with things like metamod or the like it is completely possible that someone has done that already. So, go and look around on google. FPSbanana might have something...

Want to be the third prick we've had at Interlopers? I don't advise it.

If the VDC has nothing on it, it has nothing on it for a reason. HL2DM is much more open to modification, but CSS is a complete bitch to mod. The buying system, the weapons, the code; a lot of it is embedded into the source code - and that as City14 has stated is inaccessible.

You can change models, sounds, textures, make maps and so on but as far as I'm aware a conversion is either impossible or extremely hard. If someone wants to correct me on that, cool.

If you want to make a multiplayer mod, as I've said, use HL2DM. Simple as that.

I can't be sure, but the addition of "then" and "telling me all this" sounded sarcastic.

If I'm wrong, no offence.
