I've created a source engine 2007 mod (For some reason I got a error when using 2009),

Anyways, when I open hammer there is literally no grid whatsoever.

Hi there

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago, and after much searching, managed to find a solution that worked for me on the Steampowered forums (it's a very common problem).

Let us know how it goes, and if you're not a member already, join the SDK Improvement Group and help us petition Valve to improve their tools.

Until valve decides to get off their ass and do something, you have to manually edit the gameinfo.txt associated with your engine version and paste it into Source 2009. We're all having the same problem. I need to use one version to compile, and another to edit the map. It's really annoying and further ruins the already terrible workflow associated with the Source SDK.
