the dev team doesnt hates the base. I myself, have grown apart from that community. But the maps are 1.6 that are dressed with CSS assets. The main goal was to get the mod to current CS feel and features, then expand for the tournament structure and additional features.

Problem is, its not unique. Its hard to attract budding artists, programmers, etc.

Hey cashed, I've applied to be a programmer and I can tell you now I'm more than budding. I'm motivated, keen and very interested. Although I might be in for a bit of a shock if the sole goal of the entire mod is to please competitive players; I don't see what's wrong with expanding the mod (but obviously keeping the competitive side), and hence appealing to a wider audience.

I agree with this, I would love to see the other offical de_ maps and cs_ gamemode too. Hell, even vip mode from 1.6. But not ruin the franchise by adding tons of stupid guns.

In my own opinion, which is very important and highly respected in semi-rare cases, people are getting mad for no reason and some people aren't getting for the same exact reason. You see, when you look at this complication without and pre-established bias, it's clear to see that CSPro is a very very mod. That, in so far, is verifiable. In conclusion, CSPro mod is free to use any of the skyboxes I have made for public use, if those in charge of the mod so choose.

Thank you for the permission. I have always admired your work :)

dark0r we've received your email and it will be discussed. Some of us would rather expand it a more public experience. The reason I played competitive was because I started playing in public servers.

Thanks :) I know alba responded saying they'd be a meeting shortly... hope I get in *fingers crossed* :D

Yeah I know I certainly would like to expand the mod, cos as it is the mod's heading for a dead end. There's only so much you can make a mod like 1.6 before it practically is 1.6. Then what? Leave it forever? Plus not much imagination or creativity is required from the art side to replicate work.. I'm sure they'd thrive more if they were having to make brand new things, cool things that made everyone "wow".

I always hate dumb remakes....

Rippers will be Rippers...
Be original,Dare to gamble,try new things,and never ever steal a good game idea from some one else...
that is why rippers stay rippers and creators stay creators...
i find it very weak that you did choose a game that already existed...

And if you say hire how much do you want to pay per hour..... hire sounds like you offer a job that is payed...
and why do you need a coder btw if you already mention you written the code from scratch...
and why did you use the original models?? are you trying to copy CS beta??

I never bothered to play 1.6 much but what exactly is the difference between CSS and 1.6? It seems like alot of work for something that 99% of the people playing won't really care about.

Counter-Strike 1.6 is declining in popularity, by every objective statistical account. It needs a graphical refresh (without gameplay alterations) to ensure its continued success and prosperity at the top of the competitive gaming world. This is not only because corporate entities need to be satisfied,

I can assure you corporate entities could care less about it, it probably has something to do with the fact that it's 11 years old now. Most people have moved on.

The difference between these two is pretty huge from a slightly experienced player's POV. There are tons of articles about it, just google some.

So a quickie from me:
#1 CSS guns only look the same, the behaviour is different and it tends to encourage players to perform 'WSADing', spray 'n' running, etc.;
#2 CSS player movement is completely different and feels clumsy somehow (for instance the CSS super slow walking was reverted to the 1.6 value last year);
#3 CSS player model and bounded hitboxes are made to scale realistically in the real-world map scenarios. However, it brings the much bigger head hitbox and thus bigger chance to get a random HS and stuff;
#4 CSS official maps are heavily cluttered and bugged (this part getting better after the Valve's OB port). There are phys objects and many other stuff like car wrecks, barrels, etc. which makes maps less clear than the 1.6 ones;
#5 CSS lacks the wall-penetration + the lowered HE nade damage done thru walls which both have been very useful techniques in 1.6; Ofc they're completely unrealistic in nature but they require some ingame mastering;
#6 CSS nades phys has been completely changed - now it feels more realistic, although not so predictable as in 1.6;
#7 CSS flash effect is much stronger than 1.6 one and IMO overpowered;

In summary CSS learning curve seems to be flatter than the 1.X one and the gameplay changes made competetive playing worse. These're just my personal opinions.

I'm really sorry for that. Non-native speaker's fault :/

Hello everyone,

We released our latest version 6 days ago, visit our website if you want to check it out: http://cspromod.com/
The feedback has been rather positive so far and the main issues (huge amount of choke and some crashes) have already been fixed or will be very soon.

We are still looking for 3D modelers to make new assets so if you are interested, check out our Jobs page. Thanks!
