Source SDK 2007 env_projectedtexture not working

I'm working on a third-person ARPG using Source SDK 2007, where I need to display enemy health ring right on the ground below enemy. I try env_projectedtexture, but notice that it does not work correctly in thirdperson view. In firstperson view, I was able to see the effect correctly, but as I switch to thirdperson view, the effect disappear.

Anyone know what causing the problem?

Well, that's an interesting way to use a projectedtexture, there should not be any difference between seeing it in third or first person as it's rendered in the world.

Do you get a "Too many shadowmaps in this frame" error?

What fixes from the VDC did you apply to the env_projectedtexture?

Did you modify any other part of the rendering code?

Didn't receive any error.

I applied all env_projectedtexture related fixed from VDC.

Well, I did modify last few lines of CInput::CAM_Think() to adjust the camera pitch, yaw and distance for third-person view (the CInput::m_vecCameraOffset variables).

Surely that's not the best way of doing it. Have more than a few enemies and you'll kill the fps.
Though i'm not sure how else you'd do it... Overlays?

Unless you only show the healthbar when aiming/looking at an enemy.
