[solved] Why is my mod missing models?

Hello everyone!
Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this but I guessed it was the most appropriate.
I'm currently making a small half-life 2 ep2 mod and I have a bit of a problem.

I downloaded the base mod (which is a god send!) and it removed a lot of errors that got caused by the
“make a mod” function in the source SDK, like:SetupArrayProps_R: array prop '(null)' is at index zero and
having no grid or bsp in the 2D view inside hammer in engine 2007 etc.

Though when I load my map up I have a bunch of ERROR signs on all of the ep1 and ep2 models and
they don't show up in the model selection.

Anyone have an idea on how to get them to show up?
and yes you will have your name in the credits list, unless you don't want to that is :shock:

Check your file paths, or just use PakRat

I have been building my mod inside the ep2 folder all this time. God knows how i´ll manage to pack it for the release. However, seeing the size most mods take I presume you have to copy the assets you want inside your mod folder.

DonPunch: Which file paths do you mean?
Gambini: I've looked at some mods that I had and they dont have any models in the model directory (except for their own) nor is the maps file size that big so I don't think they actually packed all of the models they used.

I tested my map in-game and noticed most of them worked. It was just a few that didn't show up.
Also noticed that hammer is complaining about missing textures so its not just models.
I googled a bit and read on another site that modifying the .fgd is a way to go too but I dont want to mess with
official stuff (I bet I just make stuff worse if I do)

If any programmer wants to help out and be part of this little mod then by all means.
Its called the Intern and you are a intern that helps out a... lets say an odd professor doing weird experiments.
Its a gravitygun only kind of mod and has a few unique gameplay scenarios that I don't think anyone else has done.

Have you mounted episodic in your gameinfo?

Hey, generally I map inside of EP2. And copy all of my materials + models + sounds into episode 2's folder. So they are both in the mod and in episode 2. Thats how to get around it, Sorry if it doesn't fix it. But I don't know how to make the mod work in SDK itself. Just add the FGD to the EP2 options. :)

Ah thanks for responding to my msg.
You mean I use hammer in engine 2009 and game Ep2 and then after compiling the map
I copy it to the mod and it should automaticly recognice filepaths and such?

yes it would, just save your maps in side of your mod folder from hammer. Map in episode 2, but save your stuff in the mod, works flawlessly for me. Even with custom entities etc.
