We're not trying to hate on you bro, and we all wish for the best, but we've seen a lot of stuff happen in the modding community and we're calling it how we see it.

So, the gameplay of the mod is running around with the gmod gravgun?

Exactly, which is why it's not the exact same experience.
Porky-da-Corgi -from the OP wrote:• Put in more secret areas.
• Add new enemies, such as Bullsquids and Houndeyes. (These will only be in select areas, or new optional areas in the game).
• Improving enemy AI (already done thanks to the engine port!).
• Adding in more H.E.V. suit sounds like in HL1. Eg: if you got hit in HL1 it would say "Minor lacerations detected, morphine administered", where as in HL2 it won't say anything.
• An Enhanced HL2: Death Match- this will have an open beta, once VALVe converts the game to VPK format so we can mount it, and be a sort of 'glimpse' of the mod.
• Full body awareness, similar to that of Dark Messiah: Might and Magic.

Also, you people who say 'no one will play this because it's just HL2 again', there's already a lot of people who want to play this, believe it or not.

Why would Valve take the time to convert HL2:DM to .VPK format?

Keep up with the news bro, Valve are shifting everything over to VPK sometime this year, and dumping all the old "username" games into /common

Is that going to delete all my custom content in EP2 and HL2 and reinstall somewhere else without the content?

...and we have just uncovered Modpocalypse 2013, sponsored by Valve.

Apparently now that VALVe updated HL2:DM to VPK format, it's using a newer version than the ones that Alien Swarm can mount.

The physgun is quite different from the one used in g-mod, and no, the video was not made to just show that off.

I think the splosion particles were a bit different? And one of the cobblestone textures was higher-resolution. Also I don't remember much of ravenholm so I couldn't tell if there was any new content in there or not.

The thing is, everyone played HL2 so long ago that we all have nostalgia goggles. I first played it on a dirty old ibm with like 512mb of ram and an on-board video card. I played it on the lowest settings so I could get a playable framerate. And in my memory it still looks like unreal engine 4. All your texture revamps still don't make it look any better than I remember it being because my nostalgia goggles for this game are about 12 inches thick.

None of the texture revamps are in-game yet...believe me, when they are, you will notice.
The video was one Ken made, I assume to show off that everything is working fine on the Alien Swarm engine. NPCs, Sounds, Weapons, Damage, Scripting, etc.

Yeah, Ken likes to post stuff out of the blue with little to no explanation...
However he is a great coder!
