Update:
Here's the new Gravity gun model!

Keep in mind this is for the view model, so it's that long so you can actually see the end of it (the original view model was like that).

I've still yet to figure out how you could possibly hold the gravity gun and it feel even remotely comfortable. It has like no decent grips on it whatsoever.

That model looks fucking fantastic, by the way. I'd love a larger image so I could take a closer look at the geometry on that bad boy.

Here's the new Alyx skin, I think I'm finally satisfied with her.

Yeah the Gravity Gun is pretty strange, my guess is it's really light, so it's easy to hold, but then again it looks really heavy when Alyx is using it in HL2 and EP2.

I'll ask the modeler, but I think he wants to get it finished, uv mapped, and textured first.

You do wear the hev suit.
Also, you can use the crowbar with one hand and can smack it into peoples face with no real difficulty.

Can we get a 3D Printer and make that gravity gun? That would rock.

It seems to me like your updating the heads of characters a lot, but are you going to update the rest of the models? Such as the civil protection outfit for Barney? I don't mean to pry, just wondering.

Yes those will be done, but I'm waiting for the new character models before doing those, as the heads will be relatively the same, but the bodies will be a lot different- model quality wise.

Also another update:

Looking good. Are all the textures revised in these scenes in addition to the wall textures? Like the mini-teleporter and such? I would have assumed you guys were just revising in order of the maps and areas in the game.

That brick looks very grainy, probably the $detail texture and a noisy bumpmap.

Alyx looks really nice though, a good update. Eyebrows are blurry though.

Oops, forgot to say- it's just the wall textures there. The other textures will all be done, but I'm not really doing it chapter-wise, I'm just going chronologically through the textures in each folder, so some are near the beginning, others are in other places in the game.

Yeah, the bricks are grainy due to the $detail map, I didn't get to remove it when I took those. Hopefully I'll have another row of pics up soon of the walls with Parallax Occlusion Mapping (one of the shaders added to the mod by 1/4 Life).
Also the texture are a bit blurry atm, when done the textures will be nice and crisp close up. I had to resize them to make them fit on the walls by default, on the final maps all the textures will be scaled in-hammer.

Thanks, I'll look into the eyebrows.

Just another question at hand, I am currently in slow down time with my mod I have been working on with a couple other guys, and high res textures/assets have just been some of the things we have been looking for. Would it be against your guys' wishes were your updated assets used in another mod production, or just to be used in updating HL2 and that being all you want done with them?

All due credit would be given naturally, but those kinds of upgrades always help a project out all the more. Wasn't entirely sure what intentions you had for them so I figured I would up and ask.

i would be impressed to see Half-Life 2 built in a different engine, ie Cryengine derivitive or something like that. You won't really get far updating assets I dont think, you must attack this from the ground up with all-new brushwork and re-imagined maps, the way Black Mesa Source did. Just my 2 cents of honest feelings about the project.

Well, once the mod is released I'm planning on letting everyone use the textures, just so long as credit is given. Though I'd like to get links to the mods that use them, I love to see what people come up with, or how they'd utilize the textures.

I personally hated Black Mesa, mostly because they took out so much of the game, and how they changed around some of the levels- so we won't be doing anything like that.
Making this on a different engine, like the Cryengine or something would 1) border on copyright infringement. 2) be a lot harder and more trouble than it's worth.
We're not just doing the textures in this mod either- we're actually editing the maps, bumping up the detail of them, giving them new secret areas and achievements, adding more props, shader, etc. We're even re-doing the lighting, weapon models, animations, planning to adding full body awareness similar to Dark Messiah: Might and Magic, add 2 or 3 new enemies and 1 maybe 2 new weapons (Tau Cannon, and maybe some new combine weapon, or another cut HL2 gun).

i'm not trying to be a hater but i cannot resist the urge to say that you are, at the very least, contradicting yourself...it sounds like you will do some of the things i was postulating about, ie rebuilding levels from scratch and developing new detailed brushwork, etc (which is a route very similar to that of black mesa source). i guess i am itching to see enhancement in realms other than textures and models.
