Natural Selection 2 Maps

I spotted this at Mapcore regarding Natural Selection 2:

"Hey guys,

That's right, we don't need mappers. That's because we're planning on buying the maps from the community.

We're going to give everyone a technology release (NS2TR) with materials, sounds, the .fgd, mapping guidelines and some of the core NS2 tech (dynamic infestation, commander mode, etc.). Then everyone can start creating maps and we can buy our favorites from you for release in the game.

We're working on the NS2TR now and are focused on releasing it as soon as it's going to be valuable for you!

So if you guys want to see some of your maps on a comercial product, its better to start looking at Natural Selection

guess so.. NS was a hl mod. So NS2 will be source ( i think)

As far as i know NS2 will be a comercial product made on the source engine.
And i didn't posted as news because they haven't made it official yet, they just made a post on the mapcore forums.

Interlopers>Mapcore :-D Just kidding, but good stuff to hear. The mapping for this game would really take in every aspect to hammer including mapping looks,optimization,and layout. I really hope this is true, could be a good project for everyone to get started on.

FINALLY! Ever since the NS Tech Release, the first one, I've been a Natural Selection junkie. But I always tried too much that the HL engine couldn't handle, so much more I wanted to do...Now I will be able to with Source...YES!!!

When do you think it'll be official, I've got lots of work to do at the moment and would prefer no conflicts.

Ok I'm putting this out in the air, but how about a NS community map? Like we all do one/two maps together as a community. I'm not a leader that could run such a thing. :P But somehow everyone puts in a little something into this map. Suggestions with map layout/custom textures etc. Now if you think this will never work whatever. :D
