cs s doesnt need a plot, but their levels are hell of a lot better looking.

you, my friend, are an idiot.
I don't have a link now, and I'm in school so I'm not going to bother searching for it, but there's a website that fully explains Hl1's and 2's storylines, for the incompetant that may of missed it, like yourself.
Saying Hl2 was rushed is like saying a PB&J sandwich doesn't really have Peanute Butter, just Jelly...
It absoutely inflames me when idiots like you throw crisitism like that around with no base. "It has no story" "it was rushed" etc.
How about not jumping on the troll bandwagon and getting some sense. Hating Hl2 does not make you cool (espeically when you come a Hl2 site and proclaim it)
The fact that Hl2 has a full fledged author on their side, unlike other games where they hire writers, is the reason behind the story not being "spoonfed" (as someone before me said) to you through cinematics and outright explanation (like, lets say Halo2, where Cortona explains basically every significant event so you fully understand). For Hl2, you have to listen, think, and tie together loose ends yourself. Valve was presuming its fanbase was smart enough to do this.
And it was hardly rushed. If you played it on Hard difficulty, and didn't run through it like many others did, you'll see the attention to detail Valve has put into the game. The fact that Valve MADE THE ENTIRE ENGINE themselves, from scratch, is a tesitment to their patience and worksmanship.

theat site you're talking about with the HL Saga story is not necessarily correct for christ's sakes!!! it's someones (quite weak) interprtetation!!!!! i know i go rabbiting on about the HL story the whole time, but it's not as simple as a direct 'story'!!! it's a suspense/style/keep-you-guessing thing. take nothing in the HL story for granted!

Sorry to bumb:

But judging from the screens, most likly you will be playing as alyx, and Gordon will be saved for the end of the halflife Trilligy... Its probably going to be like blue shift and the other hl1 mods, where you play as someone different in the same time period but a different situation. Because it does come free with HL2 now, so anyone who has HL2 will have HL2 Aftermath for free, so its not for the money (they said it was free for every hl2 perches in steam news update)

Looks great though otherwise, you have to remember its in pre construction, and it will be almost as good as HL2 opening. The only thing that took so long for HL2 was the "source" engine and the "ragdoll" physics, now that they have that they are SET

well well... theres a lot of steaming piles of shit laying around here.

THERE HAS NEVER BEEN a game that had a good story.
look at the godfather movie trilogy for eample. or goodfellas eact..

the lines and acting in hl2 are VERY poor, the voice overs are bad, its jumpy and i personailly thing (some) of the maps were obviously rushed.

As I keep saying...that's not really the point. That's not the kind of plot it's going for.

And Yokai, i'm fairly sure that in the early info about Aftermath they said you weren't playing as Alyx, cos they want to develop Alyx as a character more - which is harder to do if you play as her. But I doubt you play as Gordon.

Yes, those screenshots are so fake that PCGamer went to the Valve office and got the fake screenshots from the team and then brought them home and put them in an article, so fake.
