Neotokyo Update

Postby Blink on Sat Nov 29, 2008 8:08 pm

We don't often get them, but when we do they are quality. Neotokyo have recently published a media update showing of level shots and weapon renders:

We know it's been awhile, but we like to think the wait was worth it. NeoTokyo: Source is nearly finished and is being polished off for release. We will be periodically releasing new media which will include screens of our finished maps, weapons, player models, music tracks, and our Official NT:S Trailer leading up to an announcement for the release date of NeoTokyo: Source.

Those pictures look like they were arranged for a magazine article :D

Now this is some top quality I like to see in a mod. Good job.

This mod does seem to drop in quality everytime new media releases come about though, I mean the first ones seemed to be of much higher quality than these - in mapping terms at least.
Seems to be the way with quite a few mods these days.

This could easily become the best Source mod of all time, next to BMS!

When I originally hired you to work on neotokyo, I discussed it with everyone already on the team and one of the other new hires made the comment "he's the resident lopers village idiot lol, or he was, he may have redeemed himself." Aside from the fact you are probably the biggest flake of all that have ever passed thru our development team (I dont think you even started a level for us), I would have to say based on your comment regarding our current media, that individual was correct.

I've PMed you a response but just for everyone else - I stand by what I said. Did I say that this media release was poor? No, no, I said drop in quality thus 'poorer', and I'm right as far as I'm concerned, because it's my opinion. If people don't want an opinion on something, don't thrust it into the public eye.

To be fair, you're opinion is biased. In that you were brought on the team, you fawned all over the props and maps. Then you flake and now you pretend that all those maps you were crazy about are of low quality. All DJ was saying was that your reputation (brought up by another lopers user) was well founded.

But please! All constructive criticism is welcome :D I'd love to improve my environment props and appreciate the comments.

Models very good, these maps I've never seen, I always said the models were very good and the textures, my opinion isn't biased because I did fuck all work. I just don't think they look AMAZING, they look good but not AMAZING and having had the privellege of seeing alot of the other stuff I'd say their not up to the quality of the others.

Come on MSN or something and I'd be happy to tell you all the ways I think you could improve what's in those shots. Think this is becoming a storm in a teacup here though.
