Jailbreak: Source - Deathball!

The Jailbreak: Source team have churned out another trailer, this time to announce a whole new gamemode combining jails, death and giant balls! Check out the trailer and a few pics from Deathball below.

According to the team, the new mode was adapted from a community made map developed by Nyght, one of their forum members, and the crowds seen in the trailer and images are photographs submitted by various Jailbreak fans from around the world. Jailbreak: Source 0.5, the latest incarnation, is due out this month!

Deathball was a mod similar to that for Unreal, was awesome fun. Surprised they used the same name considering how similar it is.

Yeah, we settled on the name fairly early, then discovered the UT mod of the same name, but we figured, the name is so obvious for a game with Death and a Ball, that it wouldn't be an issue. Plus, in the inevitable dystopian future we're all destined for, someone, somewhere, will eventually start a futuristic blood sport called Deathball

Deathball was a mod similar to that for Unreal, was awesome fun. Surprised they used the same name considering how similar it is.

The original idea for our iteration of Deathball came from a forum member (nyght) at JailbreakSource.com where he made a custom map for 0.4. It played so well that we couldn't ignore it and instead adopted it into the mod, made some changes to enhance the fun and also adopted the name he gave it without thinking anything of it. So in short, we was unaware until fairly recently, though we was aware that there was Deathball (though very different) in a recent episode of Futurama. As Wills says it's a pretty obvious name that involves a ball and Robot's and Dinos dying (do robot's die?).

Thanks for the nice comments guys for this and the main trailer last week. We're really looking forward to releasing in the coming weeks and hope people have as much fun playing as we have putting it all together.

Nice idea that ball game..... im bussy with the same idea i tought it up 4 years ago ive started last week again making models for my ball game

ps your ball is big but looks like shit compaired to my model first i started with a low polygon spere but that sucked thats why this ball is an isohadron and it roles better than a sphere

ps my mod is called space grav Ball ps my score board and referee system is working 100 % the only thing i dont have is time lol
