Blacksector: Subject H.O.R.I.Z.O.N. Media Release

Postby ad_hominem on Mon Jan 26, 2009 4:52 pm

A fairly unknown mod by the name of Blacksector: Subject H.O.R.I.Z.O.N. has just released some impressive looking concept art, along with the first render of a weapon they call the 'Slaughter-gun'. Blimey.

Hey guys, welcome back to the next BlackSector: Subject H.O.R.I.Z.O.N. update. Everything is going fine, we have some new members this time in our team and some new stuff for you. At first i would like to thank DeathCaller and duomx88 for their good work. We have some new concepts from wiredgear, who draws some of the most incredible concepts i have ever seen. So thank you too for helping us with some of your work.

Check out the release, or look at their Moddb site.

Looks promising, I'm curious if they can pull this of, and not abandon their mod, because from what I can see in the concept art (which looks awesome by the way) it's going to be an ambitious mod.
If they can, I'll be the first one to download it!

Seems generic and the name is ridiculous. Nice concept art though.

Generic story, reminds me of GOW, and wtf does the name mean? But it looks really good and it has actually caught my interest.

The look and the feeling of BlackSector: Subject H.O.R.I.Z.O.N. is inspired by Unreal Tournament 3, Gears of War and other SciFi-Shooters like Halo, Killzone or Huxley. Our plan is to develop a futuristic and epic first-person-shooter with tactical depth.

It's inspired by Gears of War, and other Sci Fi shooters, so it should remind you of GOW :p
Common, you could have at least read the moddb page :p
And I agree on the name PhilE, it really is over the top :p

To copy what most users would say instead of reading:

"Looks like Halo mixed with Gears of War."

Well it does. Anyway concept art is nice and all but I can't play it :) Just don't hype it up before you take the leap as I say. Good luck.

I think some users are being a bit unfair.
For a beginning mod, this media release is pretty good, it may look some like Halo and Gears of War, but that's beyond the point.
I think it looks very cool, and if the modders can pull it off, I will be one of the first to download it.

looks generic as fuck but if they ever actually release I'll play it and judge it then... concept art means almost nothing (albeit perhaps a tad more than unskinned weapon renders), although theirs is definitely eye-candy.

echoing the "ridiculous name" comments too

Christ all mighty lads - give it a rest with that whole "It looks generic" crap. You're all starting to sound like a broken record...

Anyway - the standard of stuff so far is pretty good. Looking forward to a 'real' media release mind.
