To be honest, I don't really think it's even that generic. Not for a mod in source anyhow. I can't think of any other mod that's going for this look at the moment.

jeez, really harsh critics hear. I think the concept art looks phenomenal. I took a look on their moddb page and their renders look sub par. I don't know if they will be able to pull it off with that kinda of modeling crew.

Oh cool, a perfect addition to the thread -_-

In other news: this mod looks cool. i like the whole over the shoulder idea. the camera angle is nice. i haven't seen many decent looking mods with over the shoulder.

Your soundtrack percussion is brilliant, but the rest of it can be rather sub-par at times. In Black Sector Wrath, your choir sounds rather bad the way you used it. It's like someone just keeps pressing and releasing a key on a chorus synth over and over. Your synth does that to. Your making a 2 note sample, and playing it over and over and over. It gets rather repeated and boring. Spice it up, create a really nice long and flowing ambiance melody.

On your menu theme, create a more interesting mix-up for the violin, and lower its volume a tad. Spice up your snares or whatever your using there. Not a big percussion expert.

In Black Sector Theme, are you seriously using a midi guitar? The riff your using for it doesn't go well. Your going out of key there, and the fact that it's midi is WAY to easy to tell. Invest, legally or illegally, don't care, in East West Ministry of Rock. VERY good lead sounds there, and as per the norm East West delivers there samples in beautiful quality. I think it's around 25 gigs or something?

Overall it's decent, besides a couple of the repeating samples, and midi guitar. Now, do tell, what percussion and chorus plugin did you use? The only good chorus one I can find is East West Voices of Passion, but thats 50 gigs, so thats out. Really like the big drum hits though :D

There is a spectrum of generic from super-generic (Halo, etc) to super-original (World of Goo). This mod is bumping up on the left end with Halo. Most mods are a bit further to the right.

Ennui any game could be considered Generic (sorry for the necro). I mean, I don't mean to sound like a dick, but I am looking at your projects in your signature. HL2 Wars could be called generic(turning an FPS into an RTS who hasn't heard of that before, ex Halo Wars). I took a look at Ballmen, and I that is pretty original, I like the idea of changing gravity (though it could use some better maps other than boxes).

Anyways, the intention of my post is not to direct fire at you or seem offensive, but at least give them some credit for starting something that has some magnificent concept art.
