New L4D Content Soon, Survival Mode announced

According to the folks over at ign.com, this Spring will see the release of new content for both PC and 360 versions of Left 4 Dead.

The release is being dubbed the "Survival Pack" and will include a new Survival game mode, as well as two complete Versus mode campaigns. The article is unclear as to whether these are brand new campaigns, or Dead Air and Death Toll with added Versus mode. For PC gamers, this release will also include the much-anticipated SDK for the game, so aspiring developers can get cracking making custom content for Left 4 Dead.

At the same time, Valve are releasing a 'Critic's Choice' retail edition of the game, which will include all the new content of the Survival Pack.

this means L4D is coming out of beta finally.. Still kinda bugged that they didn't release DT and DA on Versus.

Very good. I just hope they take their time on the survival mode though. The coop campaigns in L4D was awesome, but the Versus mode was both buggy and unbalanced when released. The patch fixed some of those problems, but many of them are still present, which is probably why I've lost interest in L4D at the moment, unfortunately.

I dont get the "critics choice" version of left for dead... I mean.. wouldnt everyone who owns l4d get the survivor pack?

Anyways, I'm happy. Mainly about the SDK, but the question still is, how will we play custom maps? Will we end up having a server browser like tf2?

I assumed the Critics' Choice was for the 360 so they don't have to pay the additional cost for the DLC.

Finally! Ive been waiting to hear this for about month now.
I wonder what Survival mode will be like, so far ive played a couple of maps off http://www.l4dmaps.com/. But those weren't as good as I pictured survival mode to be. (Prolly just because I was playing them alone.) But this sounds great cant wait for the update!
