Age of Chivalry, Heroes and Legends (CR1) Released!

Postby ad_hominem on Thu Feb 26, 2009 1:56 pm

A huge update/expansion has been released for the Medieval multiplayer mod Age Of Chivalry, bringing with it a total of five new maps, changes to the class system, a huge number of fixes, and much more.

In this update the gameplay gets faster, more intense and much more skill oriented with players exchanging blows and parries at a fast pace forcing players to make exciting split second decisions. The new hit detection system is rock solid and gone are the frustrating days of missed swings not registering. Now you can track your stats and achievements with the support of steamworks, making each and every kill even more glorious. The game’s gore has been taken to a new level, adding to the decapitations the game now also features blunt force head explosions, new directional blood splatter (inspired by the movie 300), improved decapitation effects, projectiles that stick into your foes and the repulsively beautiful catapult explosions that turn your enemies into little more than bits and pieces in an explosion of blood that is sure to satisfy even the most barbaric of our fans.

It looks like a great mod, I actually have it installed and played it, but it's just not my cup of tea.
The graphics are great, maps are detailed, weapons are fun...
But I've never been really into this medieval stuff :(

I'm a pessimist, I played it once a while ago and the lag and gameplay was just so horrid I have a hard time imagining myself playing it again. Kudos to the team for making progress, but I thought PVK II was better.
