Postby ad_hominem on Fri Feb 27, 2009 1:43 pm

The Firearms: Source team have started releasing bi-weekly updates of their process with the forthcoming multiplayer mod. These start today with a showcase of a map, Ps_Crossfire, and two new weapons.

Welcome to our new bi-weekly news update with some new FA:S content. Firearms: Source's development has been progressing very smoothly, and each day we are getting closer and closer to our public beta. Over the past few updates we have been receiving help from our community, and have been impressed with the new team members helping us along.

Those are some badass weapons, the building looks a bit weird though, with the destruction :s

yes i would have to agree with punky on this 1. building looks blocky and unreal. whats blown the building up i ask myslef. something thats blown half a house apart and left 2 wooden crates intact, and bricks which are perfectly straight ?.

lookin closely at the map SS it all seems blocky. time to start using the vertex tool i suggest.

guns look splendid tho!

Upon first looks everything looks sexeh. Then I read some comments. Then I stared closely at the map. Then I noticed the destruction is gigantic clipped squares.

Not Cool.

And how did those crates survive the explosion, much less end up right on the edge?

This mod already has ample content to be released. They should just release it soon and then add onto it if they want.

HOW DARE YOU QUESTION THE NATURAL ORDER OF ILL CONCEIVED LEVEL DETAIL!

I didn't realize anyone used the blooper anymore. I'd rather have that Heckler & Koch side-loading grenade launcher. But that shotgun is quite impressive. I just hope the make the animations do it justice, I'm tired of powerful-looking shotguns that don't even recoil or make much noise.
