TF2 Update

Postby Mess on Fri Mar 06, 2009 3:14 pm

Updates to Team Fortress 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

 • Added a duck timer that prevents duck spamming while running around on-ground
 • Increased backstab check so that Spies can side-stab again
 • When disguising, Spies now always start showing the primary weapon in their disguise, and can then switch it with the last-disguise key
 • Fixed several bounding box issues with jumping, falling, and rocket jump air-walking. Bounding box should be much more accurate there now

Check out the full changelist.

I've never heard of duck spamming before.

That's a duck mosh pit, not duck spamming.

Let me ask you a question - why remove player's control over which weapon they're holding for the class they're disguised as?

I'm glad they changed the disguise so it always shows the primary weapon. I've seen plenty of noob spies running around disguised as pyros with their axes out. :P

Now you can't go up your sentry without height advantage(ie tele, ramp, rock, etc.)
But the duck spamming is a cevo thing.
Its a hit box glitch from what i heard(you can use it to dodge snipers) so i think i know now why can't i score a headshot someone when there ducking mid-air that or some other factors from my side :| (ping, skill whatever)

I just went to steampowered forums and the place is damn on fire

When will they finally fix wireframes on custom content/windows/water after mapchange? This bug has been around forever and shooting wireframe glass crashes you. Go on a 32 player server and shoot glass anywhere, then watch for all the client time outs. They've messed up custom content a ton since the medic update. (Especially since all melee weapons are on new anims causing old melee weapon skins to break).

my game is so fucked up after this update.

If I play online then my viewmodel is all screwed up, no matter what I have my sensitivity as it acts like it's set to 1000000 and if I try to change my weapon I crash. Also for the 2 seconds that I can play before I crash, people's running animations don't play.

Oh joy.

And the heavy in the picture isn't dying, he's running

I had that too, what I did was I backed up my cfgs and custom skins, then I deleted team fortress 2's folder (not the gcf's though) and just started up tf2 so it generated a new one. This also fixed a ton of errors I used to have too.
