Off Limits Update

The guys over at Off-Limits have been busy. They've settled into a brand new website and also posted some gameplay footage for us to enjoy:

I myself have been busy finishing our first level still (at least we’ll have one level for sure). Robert’s level ND_Russia, after a lot of layout and geometry changes to get the flow to fit our fast paced game play style, it’s getting very close to final. I’ll post a separate post on that when it’s 100% final with more details. As soon as this level is done I’m moving on to our second level (one that involves out vehicle game play).




As well as all that they're also hunting for some dedicated playtesters to help out. You can grab more info over at their new website.

do they use the sounds from wolfenstein ET 'when you hit some one' ?

No, we use the quake3arena hit sound, because at the time we didn't have a Sound Designer, we will make our own eventually. I would prefer to keep it though, as an homage to Quake3Arena, as I loved that game :)

The same sounds are used in W:ET, as that's how I recognised them.
Ooh, nostalgia.

Beautiful map by the way. In particular, the lighting.

q3 owned all games before and after it. I miss cpm :( Goddamn lack of hardcore gamers, I want speed I tell you! Skill! Adrenaline!

/me goes back to decreasing the skill factor of his weapons at the request of pretty much everyone :p

I like the level design, as this has been one of the few mods I've been looking forward to. You really nailed the powerful weapons thing as far as I can tell. They look like they are real weapons with stopping power. My only complaint is the overly shiny skins on the guns.

I playtested this mod, but I wasn't too happy with the gameplay yet, but damn, they've got some real nice maps for the mods, and the weapons and classes are cool too, curious how their first beta will turn out, hope they improved the gameplay a bit since I lastly played it :)
