No offense, but I wouldn't say L4D's original content is really as replayable as you are stating it to be. I played the game once on a friend's account and found no need to play it any more than I did after playing all of the campaigns. You seem to be making the assumption that we don't want to buy L4D2 because we think theres NO new material, which isn't right. The reason why I don't think L4D2 is a good idea is because I know that it won't be enough of an update to be a stand alone game.

L4D2 is literally if they made Opposing Force and called it "Half Life 2." There's no justification to making this a stand alone game, and would sell better and be better as a DLC. I would rather valve charge for downloadable content than see them release mediocre sequels with some slight updates to the last games AI.

They can make the game if they want, but I wont buy it and I hope others follow. Not because I think valve is a bad company, it is only because they have failed to really make me interested in L4D with mindless, spur of the moment sequels.

The bolded sentence makes absolutely no sense.

And how come you know that what is in Left 4 Dead 2 isn't too big for DLC? It's an entire fucking new game build on the foundation of an older game.

If you don't want the game, then don't buy it.

I just saw this and thought some of the stuff was kinda cool. Like the witch wandering around in daylight and not just sitting there crying. I am actually really looking forward to the game, if for nothing else some new content. 5 more campaigns and 5 more campaigns of content to use. That is AWESOME!!! I know some still have a sour taste in their mouths about it but...

anyway take a look at the comparison on ign...

that comparison is not complete because valve is going to anounce much more in the next couple of months,
I've read somewere that every campaign has its own special little feature, like the Parish campaign (day light CP)
has the zombies with the hazmat suit.
also that map with the graves you see in the teaser changes the layout every time you play it... that should be interesting :)

edit: owyeah btw valve is going to anounce new DLC before the end of the summer for l4d1

Yeah I was defiantly not one of those who where upset by the announcement of L4D 2. I was excited from the get-go. I think it will be more things to learn as far as level design and it will make our work that much better. I jsut read something about the initial shock being over and more and more people are warming up to the idea. Especially since they are still going to update L4D 1...

I wasn't upset by the announcement, but I still see no reason to buy it. (I got L4D1 on my xbox, to play with friends. Nobody plays it anymore ;( ) I don't want to shell out more money for a game that looks relatively the same, but will cease to be played after a lil bit. I'm not mad, per-say, but I'm not ecstatic either.

I could care less about it looking "relatively the same". And I would say that's not even true since they have stuff like day maps and weather conditions. They are fixing problems with the gameplay with gauntlet gameplay and wandering witch (who stopped being a problem quickly after everyone learned how to deal with her), and adding new stuff that will change the gameplay futher.
