Well there is only one button that runs/decrypts so I don't know what is happening.

Sucks I was never able to pre-order. I want to see some fresh content from Valve. The TF2 update was sort of relieving but I already did all the achievements and I never liked king of the hill. :0

Anyway, I hope to actually buy the game soon. I'll probably end up getting it for Xmas, but I might be able to do that sooner.

Tbh, some running animations on the zombies look really bad, I hope they improve this later.

I enjoyed the demo. Short but relatively sweet. At first I didn't like the daylight but after a few plays I'm starting to dig the new atmosphere. New guns are fun (I love the burst fire assault rifle) and melee weapons are as satisfying and kickass as I had hoped. Especially the guitar and frying pan. Love some of the new characters, especially the big black dude and the redneck "kill all sonsabitches" guy. The new special infected are whatever, the only one that I really like is the Charger.

I hope there are more sequences like the one at the end of the demo where you have to run to turn off the switch, as others have said it is a nice change from the "last stand" defense gameplay that climaxes tended to have in the original.

And damn those riot police zombies can take a lot of punishment.

The game needs the new special infected, they help keep people out of rooms and corners. The Spitter's damage is exponential so the more time you spend in it's goo, the more damage it does. This keeps people out of tiny rooms where they can just shoot the doors over and over. Charger is to keep people out of corners which is another easy spot to camp. You may be right about the Jockey though. I guess it makes it easier to kill someone who's off alone by running them off a cliff. That would probably even work in a group of people. Otherwise you could do the same things he does with a hunter or smoker.

And the Riot zombies don't take damage in the front from bullets. You have to either melee them or shoot them in the back to kill them.

The weapon I liked the most was deagle (magnum) - it's a f*king hand cannon. It's very satisfying to kill two zombies with a single shot on expert. I'm a bit confused with two SMGs though - which one does more damage? also what is the point of silencer?).

Haha that explains a lot. I would put like 5 shotgun rounds into them, they get back up, so I just resorted to braining them with the frying pan.

I still haven't got the deagle yet...

I think it's always there, always in the same spot. It's in the first map, near the jukebox bar, lying on the pavement.

Overall I have seen:
- two pistols (colt 1911 or whatever it is called and deagle)
- two submachine guns (silenced and regular)
- three assault rifles (g3, ak, m4)
- three shotguns (pump action with wooden stock, pump action with plastic stock and semi auto combat shotgun)
- two sniper rifles (wooden stock with 15 rounds per magazine, plastic stock with much more rounds)
- four melee weapons (guitar, frying pan, machete, police baton)

Where are the assault rifles? I haven't been able to find any other than the end safehouse. Haven't found the super sniper either.

When using the silenced uzi none of the zombies seem to notice they are all dying around them. That was pretty neat.

Super sniper (one is the new hunting rifle, one is an autosniper) is only on top of the scaffold where the button to turn off the alarm is afaik. Assault rifles are either in the middle of the area with all the hedges, or on the wrecked up street after that section on a table across from the alley you come out from.

In the park, go to the right, find the toilets and a table, there the auto sniper is spawnable.

If you feel like trying out some hidden features try the upgrade_add command (iirc needs sv_cheats 1).
Type it in console with a space after it and it will show you your options- incindiary ammo, lazer sight, and explosive ammo.

You can also set the game to 'headshots only':

z_non_head_damage_factor_<difficulty> 0 = only headshots will kill zombies. Might not apply to specials, though, and one-shot kills are still one-shot kills (ie the snipers and melee).

Should be something like "Realistic" game mode.
