Yup. It uses L4D1's authoring tools I think. They just need to add the new content to a separate .cfg along with the new AID and such.

Sigh, but it's not an actual SDK and I can't help but feel upset about that...even though I don't know how to utilize it.

The Australian "censored" version sure doesn't feel very censored to me. Limbs go flying, heads explode, chest cavities are revealed, intestines unfurl out onto the ground, a copious amount of blood spurts out in torrents etc etc.

I'll have to check footage of the various Valve demos to see whether they're any more gruesome than the version of the demo I've been playing, but as I chop zombies in two with a machete, I just can't feel the censorship.

It did. The area after the jukebox bar has several entrances of which a random one is blocked in every game.

Ahhh I thought something was different one time I played... So I guess it included a subtle example. There are much larger areas that use it though in later maps.
