TF2 Halloween Update Inbound

While we've all been distracted by the (admittedly belated) arrival of the Left 4 Dead 2 demo, Valve have been busy arranging a small update for Team Fortress 2, to celebrate Halloween.

Welcome, if you dare, to the first ever Team Fortress Haunted Halloween Special! Five new update-specific achievements will unlock the Mildly Disturbing Halloween Hats—moldering, eldritch veils of such manifold depravity, the human eye will not process the sheer enormity of their malevolence, and out of self-preservation will merely show you paper bags with faces on them. These faces are still moderately scary, though, so brace yourselves for mild terror! [sound of bat wings]

I would have loved a jackolantern as a hat, instead I got a poopy little paper bag. The other hat is pretty tight though.

The map also needs some serious optimization work. It randomly makes your FPS take a shit, and I've confirmed this with about 20 other players throughout my play-time.

yeah I haven't appreciated trying to get these new hats / achievements on a half-assed map

There's a problem with the event version that only occurs when you rejoin or switch servers. My FPS went from 120 to 30 once I switched servers.

Anyway, this update is rather amusing. Love the exploding pumpkins and Harvest is a great map.
