I'm higly dissappointed with the AI! How many times must Rochelle and Ellis walk off ledges when I'm taken down by a hunter? Seriously!

What I'm curious about is how they did the weather. I've only seen a few videos but does the lighting dynamically change or do they just spawn particles and so on.

I don't think it would dynamically change the lighting. Probably change the color correction to make it seem darker/lighter. I haven't played it though so I'm not sure.

Just finished all the campaigns on my own. I went into L4D2 not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised that it's a bit better than I expected. It's got a nice slew of new things to make it fresh again, like the new panic events. The one with the
Highlight to read:
cola
was especially funny.

Some great new places to explore, cool new effects, and as always some pretty epic scenes.

I gotta say though I'm disappointed in some things. A small gripe, but one that still bothered me is they took out the "self-awareness" deal, so you can't see your own feet anymore. Also, I don't know what happened, but the AI suddenly sucks dick and your teammates are about half as smart as they were in the first game. Maybe it's because half the team is bl

Once again somebody apparently overlooks that the Authoring Tools are NOT the SDK Tools. While I do not know enough to take advantage of the imminent Left 4 Dead SDK, I would love to see an actual SDK instead of a simple level making tool. Yokai is right - they simply must release the full Left 4 Dead SDK in order for this to be truly worth it.

Best: Dark Carnival. Best atmosphere, fun design, cool little minigames.

Worst: Swamp Fever. Boring, repetitive, annoying.

Best: Ellis. Funny, always entertaining, best dialogue.

Worst: Rochelle. Stupid, ugly, boring, bland, poor taste in music.

Best: Scavenge. Tense, fun, balanced, hilarious.

Worst: Single Player. Horrible AI. Fuck.

Best: Grenade Launcher. Boom!

Worst: Pump shotgun. Horrible slow crap.



Also, did anyone notice the weapons that weren't ( to my knowledge, haven't seen 'em ) used in the game? There's like, modded CS:S weapons you can give yourself. The AWP, Scout, and MP5 are there. It's weird. I dunno why they're in the game, I never saw them in any of the campaigns at all.

I wish fireworks were in other chapters too besides the Dark Carnival finale, those were fun.


Oh, and Yokai, it was a maze of fences because it was a processing area for CEDA. It was to form lines for people. Hence the check in desk and such, and the busses, and all that.

Im in love with Hard Rain on realism mode. Nothing like getting lost in a storm- they lower the microphone volume during the storm and it makes your buddies sound distant, pretty cool.

Those are for the german version of the game, apparently to make up for censorship.
Rumors on steam forums say if you join a german game you can use them, but I haven't seen proof.

I just joined into a german game but as soon as I said "omg is this a german game, are there cs weapons?" I was kicked :lol:

Hmm... I don't see how the ending of Dark Carnival fits with the beginning of Swamp Fever... The other before fitted perfectly.

Anyways.. Pleasantly surprised at all the new good stuff. It sucks that the chainsaw runs on gas that gets depleted...

I have heard people say they did not see any WOW moments in the game. You need to play the campaign where you have go through the storm. Holy Hell it is one of the best effects i have seen in a game. If any of you have played that part you will know what I am talking about. I played for a few hours last night and was having a blast. I am not disappointed in the least.

I don't understand the people that rage against l4d2. I bought it for 35$, level design quality is as good as in L4D1, if not, better. Environment detail is x10, prop quality is better, better textures, Awesome new boss infected that reduce the predictability of L4D1, New weapons, new items, new music, better transitions between campaigns. I find it's much harder than l4d1.

Anyone who says L4D2 sucks is because they are still pissed because L4D1 didn't deliver as much content.

This is a coop game, stop complaining about the bad AI on bots, play with friends and you will have no reason to cry anymore.
