I couldnt remember who she reminded me of...
hmm..... announcer.... jan

demoman.... stanley....

And of course, the Sniper is Dwight...and the Spy is none other than MICHAEL SKARN, F.B.I. !!!!

I hope the comics come to the conclusion that the Soldier and Demoman realize they are friends and join forces against the Announcer.

It's pretty great. Spike is right about the new sword/shield not really fitting the point of the demoman, nonetheless the game is designed to be humorous and fun so I don't see the problem with it's addition.

I don't get why people are bitching that the updates are ruining the classes because of how unrelated they are to the character.

I'm glad this is how TF2 is turning out, because it's actually becoming something new and unique, and not the same old shit like in TFC. I've been happy with what Valve has done with the game so far, and I have no doubt that this update will deliver just like the previous ones did.

PS: Although I will admit that the Bonk Energy Drink is fucking stupid. It's almost useless and the pistol can save your ass sometimes. Also, the fact that the sandman takes away 30 health is kind of lame too, but they at least re-enabled double-jumping with it, and I guess they thought nerfing your health was a valid way of balancing that out. Personally I think any health nerfing is a cheap idea that should be disbanded altogether, but I'm sure some would disagree.

BONK! could be made a lot better simply by lessening or removing the time you must be stationary to use it. If you could continue running during the "pre-blur drinking phase" it would be a bit more useful.

On the flip side, I firmly believe that there needs to be a cooldown after a player stops being BONK!ed or DR'ed during which they cannot pick up the intel but can take damage, or else suicide-BONK! to touch the intel makes too much sense, especially since the double-jump and FAN can be used to recover from being blasted away by stickies, etc.

Heh I like how the Soldier comic refers to that civilian in the news who claims he fought in the war and so on and then marched with medals on and fled when asked what regiment he was in :D

Meh nevermind. It is just a coincidence :D

bonk is really useful when taking down a sentry if you have a team mate with you. I've used it to get past defenses and to the intel, plus it makes taunt killing a lot easier. I like it.

Mr-Jigsaw wrote:By that argument, the sniper shouldn't have even been given an SMG or a 'noife.' Because a sniper is meant to snipe from a distance, not engage in close combat with a melee weapon. Oh, but you may argue that he has those for personal defense, but is the shield not there for the exact same reason? And does the bow not reflect a sniper's skill, only for a smaller range? It's about accuracy, range, and power, just like the rifle. Oh, but I guess it doesn't have a scope, so it's not a sniper's weapon.

Let me take your argument to its furthest possible extreme then, based on class skill, a demoman shouldn't have a bottle as his melee weapon, but instead a stick with spiky bombs attached to it so enemies explode 5 seconds after you smack em with it.

The SMG is a secondary weapon that fits his adventurer aesthetycs, same goes to the machete. Jaratte was an idiot idea that came from all the 13 year old kids that found the meet the sniper scene, when he's waiting, like the best joke ever made. A tribal shield does not fit at all the original sniper aesthetycs. And the bow reflects his aniper skills as much as throwing a rock, using a slingshot or throwing a spear.

On your demoman argument, you're talking about an original weapon, the bottle, and you're wrong, because I'm not ranting about the original TF2, I'm rating about what they are making to it. The original demoman is a black scottish cyclop, he's an explosive master and a drunkard. That's his original character. And that's why he's got a bottle. A sword and a shield has nothing to do with a black scottish explosive master drunk cyclop.

To add to Jigsaw's statement, the Demoman is Scottish and the sword and targe combo were common weapons for Scottish soldiers a long time ago. It makes sense if you know the information behind them, even if that information is TF2's lore from videos and random documents.

All civilitations in the world used swords and shield.

Oh BTW, I think soldier's new rocket launcher is a good idea.

Huzwha? I somehow doubt it. The Soldier's had a similar theme for a long long time. Remember the collectible cards?

If we're talking about things purely from an aesthetic side then the shield and sword for the demo man are Valve's nod to braveheart, and the snipers bow + shield are references to aboriginal culture (y'know, him being Australian and all)

Well actually indigenous Australians didn't use bows given the fact there wasn't much to make string.

I should know despite the fact I haven't look at any sources, because I come from Australia and I am on the internet which is a wholesome and reliable source of information.

What? I thought everyone was wrong on the internet.

I should get on with my studies tbh, instead of spamming Lopers.

FUCK YOU SOURCEMAPS FUCK OFF FAGGOT I WAS GONNA POST FIRST SINCE I AM UP AT 6 AM IN THE FIRST PLACE

I am just kidding. The new stuff looks hot. I can't say much about the new stickies, but the soldiers banner thing sounds awesome.

It's good to announce a time to push when you have no mic, since a lot of times potential push moments are lost as the team isn't coordinated. I expect seeing every able teammate by my side when I use it.
