The Jailbreak: Source team have literally just released the latest version of their mod. In development for the last year and a half, the mod is now a total conversion for the Orange Box engine.

Played a few games this evening. One with Wills in it. :D

Gotta say, it's a lot of fun! I love the game play, but there were a few things that bugged me.

-Having to empty about 2 and 1/2 clips to kill someone depending on the perks

-Like the perk system, but it can flaw and lead one team to be full up on kills and perks. Which leads to very unbalanced and annoying game play (Had 2 rounds like this) Perhaps implement a Deathstreak system for balance? (Kind of like in MW2 etc)

-Various minor bugs (Doors opening and killing players, PlayerClip issues in some maps

Otherwise, one of the best multiplayer mods out there! Good job JB Dev team! :D

I'd have to agree with the above post, those need some fixing. I feel that the mod needs a lot of particle effects, more so than what it already has. Some to distinguish proper weapon types.

Replace those silly old Half life 2 effects with something better. I wasn't sure which weapon it was, it felt like a shotgun but, that weapon needs some bigger tracers, preferably particle effects.

Thanks guy's were taking in ALL suggestions, and we will be tweaking the overall feel dependent on players feedback.

Great work guys!
I only played for about 2 matches, but my only complaint is the same as above: the perk system easily becomes another advantage of an already-weighted team.

Few points:

  • Since the red grenades can't hurt your own teammates, perhaps they should be able to go through them. Quite annoying to be shooting them at your opponent, only for a teammate to walk in front of you, making the grenade bounce of them right into you and blowing you into the next century.
  • Clipping needed around doorframes so you don't get caught on them.
  • Perhaps move the exit of the jail escape routes away from the jail release buttons, so whole teams can't camp right next to both of them all together. Makes escaping or releasing virtually hopeless.
