Fair enough, I didn't think they were a part of the HL canon. Thought they were a fan concept. Still, something about their movement doesn't seem right. I'm sure there are better ways to fix it than giving them four legged movement, change of concept shouldn't be made for the sake of movement trifles.

In HL1 he didn't really move at all. He just stood there shooting his stuff at you.

I really liked the manhack puzzles, and it was nice to be able to see myself holding the controller. APC was also very cool. I did not get annoyed killing enemies over and over because it was diversified. Lip-syncing was great but like it has already been said, the writing was not very good in few parts.

I only went through 1 bug: it was at the exploding car. It seems one diagonal invisible brush was blocking me from going around the left of the car. I managed to get around the car after 3 times. weird

How big the university is? After a while, I could easily see re-used environments over and over but all in all i give this 8/10

Hope to see more coming from you!

6/10 The mod was alright, but was confusing, lagged in alot of places because of bad optimization and or dynamic lights.. "No it isn't my computer, its source engines fail". I liked alot of it.. but It lacked some detail. But i really loved the NPC's. Great mod over all, just kinda was expecting more. It was byfar one of the most wack mod's i've ever played considering the weird beginning. It was creepy.

Highlight to read:
It's all been said here really..

I quite liked the start, it's very different and it felt more like a realistic love story that gets shattered by the alien and combine arrival. Pretty cool.

The university got very confusing after awhile, and I must admit I got bored with it. However the manhacks were very fun to use, but as said there was a cutscene while I was controlling a manhack and I had to quickly get out of it to listen.

The models were quite well made, however I miss the old eerie sound of the controllers.

Overall a very fantastic mod, keep it up and I look forward to the next episode, if there ever is one.

The mod CTDed when the lady disappeared the first time, the game CTDed again when I got inside the apc. The game CTDed a 3rd time when I clicked on the second combine energy ball station. Never had a mod CTD before in 5 years.

It looks like fun, maybe I'll try again in a month. :\

*edit*

Wait, no, the first empires alpha would CTD every now and then, now that I think about it.
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.

I didn't lagg at all, and my computer is pretty old.

Mod was awesome, some parts were quite annyoing, Like why do I die if I shoot the yellow girl, causing me to hit a load and not being able to hear what she says? (Sounds that are being played stops for whatever reason in Source after loading).

8/10.

I agree with Jigsaw on most points, but I do think I should add two comments.
First the storytelling. The events of the game seemed more or less randomly conjoined, and that the whole thing was an excuse to put in some controllable manhacks and APC's probably isn't too far from the truth. Also, the story tried to reach a deeper level but really felt silly most of the time, I found, and some of the apparently dramatic sequences desperately needed better scripting and hinting. The last of the latter applied to the whole mod, actually, as I often found myself wondering and having to think back to figure out what I was supposed to be doing.
Now the voice acting. It wasn't too bad but still not enough to deliver the promised realism and intensity on which a dramatic ethical struggle is deeply dependent. As a consequence, I found myself just waiting for the NPC's to shut up whenever they started talking.
And about the fucks, yes, it strangely does seem weird to hear. Perhaps we're just getting too used to American censorship; I don't remember finding swearing in movies in other languages inappropriate.
In conclusion a mod with mediocre gameplay and not entirely functioning storyline and drama - but also new features making it worth looking into if you're a fan of the various Xen freaks from HL1. The technical part was good in terms of the additions to HL2, but the mod itself could use some improvements.
