Here's the most significant update info so far, as I have tracked it from last night.
From the beginning.
Most of the radio transmissions turned out to images that were transformed into audio files in a process similar to what NASA uses to send video from space.
Many of these secret images contained a series of letters and numbers that were meant to be part of a 32 digit hexadecimal code, or an HD5 hash. The solution to another image, which showed the following: "BBS: (XXX) XXX-XXXX"...is (425) 822-5251, based on solving the puzzles hidden in the remaining images.
Hundreds of people tried calling the number, but got the sounds of a modem. So instead, hundreds of people hacked into it. They essentially reached a new version of Glados, which operates similarly to the Glados found on
http://www.aperturescience.com. (The new version of Glados is v 3.11 while the old version is v 1.07) People got stuck for a long, long time...trying to guess the login and password for the new Glados.
This brings us way back to one of the very first clues found. One of the Morse Code clues reads, "Login Backup Active Password Backup Active" so somebody entered backup/backup and it worked.
I am not sure about the frequency of this, but all night long, people have been logging into the new version of Glados under the apparent (and probable) "Backup File" Glados created...and they have been getting this.
http://img63.imageshack.us/img63/9306/portalasciilarge2.pngThis may not be all of them. They are zoomed out pictures built using ANCII - otherwise known as letters, numbers, and symbols in a DOS style setup. You can all obviously see pictures of Glados, test chambers, mechanical Aperture objects like turrets, science happening, etc. If you rotate your head 90 degrees to the right, you will see some of the images tun into screen shots (!) of test chambers. The image below was blurred for ease of viewing.
http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/9113/blurredportalascii.pngIn addition, there is a text file labeled "'Low Risk' Human Acquisition Resources" where Glados (or somebody else) discusses social groups where test subjects may be obtained for testing in the chambers. There are also several messages that come directly from "cjohnson", the CEO of Aperture Science.
A final note for the lopers: information is still rolling in from the BBS, so whatever Valve has in store for us, it must be worth the immense community investigation.
Another final note for lopers: The new version of Glados is 3.11, which might refer to the date March 11th. March 11th is Day 3 of the Game Developer's Conference, where Valve is in attendance. Will they spill some heavily stacked beans next week? Only Gabe knows......
