I wonder if reflective textures are more versatile now. Like just a vmf command and be used on almost anything(decals/overlays?).

And I am happy that they are going to use dynamic lighting for something other then Gman.

I wonder what kind of dynamic lighting?

Probably like most other games like GTA4, UE3-based games, BFBC2? I don't know. It's kinda vague.

At the moment it looks like the grainy old env_projected texture (note the shadow on the door)

Someone made a Star Wars joke on Kotaku that made me laugh but honestly it reminds me of Tron, a LOT. (It's not final by the way.)

The fuzziness of those shadows remind me of GTA4s dynamic lighting. I agree with sourcemaps.

Looks like Source is getting a bunch of updates. Lets just hope this translates to an ep3 sdk for us to work with in the near future.

Were the portals ever reflective?

I'm fairly sure no... It would be pretty annoying having a reflection of the environment on top of the portal view into another part of the environment.

If a female character having an almost masculine physique is cool, then I guess, yeah. Though Chell looked kinda mangy before, I still would have given her some action. Not this one though. Ick.
