You can always replace the model with your own. There would be no continuity breaks since Chell is never mentioned with respect to gender and she never says anything in a female voice either.

I just read the stuff, didn't read the story bits, don't wanna spoil. Although I know now that it takes a long time after HL2. I shouldn't've read.

On the bright side, we now know that Earth is still standing a few hundreds years from now. So maybe combine was stopped.
