According to the L4D2 blog we are going to see the new campaign 'The Passing' next week:

So enough worlds colliding, when is "The Passing" coming out? Well... if it was coming out next week we would say right here - Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing is coming out next week and we will be updating the blog next week with more news on the release. There you go.

It's kinda sad, but I think I've actually gotten to the point where I have so little confidence in valve releasing on time, that I can't get excited about a release announcement. Valve time isn't even funny anymore.

If I don't hear a word from valve about the passing by the end of next week, I won't even be disappointed. because in my mind "it'll be released sometime". I also wouldn't be surprised if they released the campaign, but didn't release the two new game modes at the same time. We'll see.

I don't mean to be all sour and shit, but I still have a sour taste in my mouth from the l4d2 demo fiasco, and how we were being strung along. 1 hour at at a time. For 2 days. For something that we (sorta) paid for. Those bastards.

I have to agree with Stoop. The whole "cabal" thing is awesome, but clearly without someone cracking the whip they sorta just meander along. Don't get me wrong, the content benefits greatly from that kind of approach, but seriously - they need to get thier game faces on.
