Engineer Update

The Engineer Update is finally upon us! As is tradition, we will will be teased daily with tidbits of information until the update goes live on Thursday.

Day One - The Frontier Justice: Shotgun with crits directly linked to your Sentry Gun's success

Day Two - The Wrangler: A pistol replacement to allow direct control of the sentry. New achievements have also been revealed, and a new map called Upward.

Day Three - Plr_Hightower and a mysterious community-made wrench

Day Four - The Gunslinger: Replaces the wrench and allows engies to build weaker Sentry Guns quickly. Also another payload map, Thunder Mountain.

the frontier justice seems neat, but it seems like it'll just be straight up better than the regular shotgun. neither having a smaller clip size, or not having random crits seems like a disadvantage, but being able to predict when you'll have crits seems like a massive advantage.

I bet valve is going to release it, wait a couple days, nerf the fuck out of it, and then buff it again a week later.

Yeah, that would've been nice actually, I play engineer a lot.

I would've preferred something like a shotgun that fired slugs instead of buck shot personally. Though this shotgun allot is allot better than the current to me.

I had an Idea like that in a thread I posted somewhere...
the Idea was a lever-action hunting rifle (created by the Texan marksman Smithy Weston,) where the bullet would gain damage the longer it was in the air. so close range would be less powerful then the normal shotgun, while long range would be more powerful.

Anyone know how the golden wrenches are given out? Is it just that there is a small chance that you will get one when you craft something? Or is there a specific blueprint?
