But it is a lot better looking!

its still hardly any better than doom3s level of dynamic lighting (2004!).

Rest of the leveldesign looks awesome. Some of the puzzles seem a bit farfetched/complicated though.

Never said it was amazing, again as i said before...
We need to wait for old equipment to be capable.

As long as they properly optimized it, the dynamic lighting shouldn't hurt very much at all. And if the dynamic lighting is too much for you, you can always disable it.

Really, they had no choice but to use true dynamic lighting if they wanted both a dynamic world and a good looking game.

But like you bring up, it wont be the primary lighting. Unless I'm mistaken and they took that step. :?
It could be used for optional effects but it cant be a requirement since older computers will have to be able to disable it.

Did i miss Valve losing their creed to supply the largest number of users with their games?

hmm, I wonder why wheatley has such a natural sounding human voice, yet glados (and the turrets) have such robotic sounding voices.

Well, looking at it closer, it almost looks like they use the shadowmapped lighting for all the shadows.

I don't see that at all, it looks like they just removed the normal glass and turned on 2 func_brush's that have a broken glass material.

Thats what i imagine, but its still prolonging the inevitable...
Once they can be assured that something i guess like 80%-90% of their user base can run full dynamic lighting we'll see it...

In fact, its kinda a god sens we have to wait so long for EP3, it will look better the longer it takes....
