Sounds like leftover ref material.

What I'm seeing is a mod that won't top Dear Esther visually, but in terms of scale, effort, 1-to-1 recreation and above all nostalgia, this is second to none.

Except Dear Esther didnt have tons of custom models and animations right?
Risking to sound like a fanboi (by all right), screenshoots doesn't show live footage. :)

Some of you are saying that the mod doesn't look so good, but I'd love to be able to replicate the beautiful work the dev team has made. Now, I don't know about you guys, but my level of skill just isn't that high yet...

Anyway, hopefully this will stop some of the people who think the mod is dead because the devs have put a media blackout in effect.

It may not look as good visually as some other mods out there that has set the standard pretty high, but I bet that not a single person here is going to pass up playing this.

I'm sure the newer stuff and Xen will look brilliant (especially if they make us of the same shaders used to create the antlion caves in Episode 2) but damn do the interior spaces look dull. It looks HL2 quality yes, but considering all that has happened in the mean time they could afford to step it up.

Once you put something on the internet, that's it. You can't just take it back.

*cough-grin*
It's quite simple really. I want to be a professional level designer. I want this to be my job.

It loooks great, some areas not as good as they could,. and some areas very good. But screenshots never feel as detailed and immersive as in game

Has it occurred to anyone that the cup is being held by the player?

Also I think the detail is there, but there's not enough uhh, I don't know, visual contrast? I can't explain it.

Still looking forward to play it, and as Happy said, you can only appreciate the game in motion.

Looks like someone got all pictures saved before they were deleted:

Edit @Chrille: They wanted to release in the end of 2010, so there wont be much time to work on this.

For all we know, they haven't finished working on Inbound yet, and it makes sense since all the "bad" screenshots are from that chapter.

Edit:
@Nutomic: Nope, but it ain't much that needs fixing.
