Portal 2: DLC #1 Announced

Hot on the heels of the Portal 2 release, is the confirmation of some new downloadable content:

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first game add-on for the year's highest rated multiplatform game, Portal 2, is in development and targeted for this summer.

Portal 2 DLC #1 will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.

Targeted for release this summer, Portal 2 DLC #1 will be offered free of charge for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3

Not only is all Valve DLC completely free, all the time, no matter what (on the pc), but it says right in the article that it's free for everyone, even the people who bought it on the 360 will get it for free.

A dlc < 6 months after the release of a game does make me wonder if they couldn't have just put it in the finished game in the first place. Still good stuff, hope they add some challenging rooms, the game's SP rooms were soo hard that they were easy (ooh, a white patch, i bet i have to create a portal there...).

Yeah Armageddon, I would totally rather let the game get old before they released DLC... Wait, um no, this works great!!!

A big part of this DLC will be the SDK. Planning to release it shortly after the game official release makes total sense. But considering most people finished the game already, not because it was too easy but because we did not sleep I think it is great they are adding more stuff. I am guessing some multiplayer levels...
