but with that said, i do wish they could have created an entirely new locale/climate for this map, instead of the same snowy one. it feels too much like a clone of the old one...why not mix it up and make it at least a sunny summer day...?

I don't think it would be Office without the snow. It's always been snow, from CS 1.0, to CS:GO. It'd be pretty dumb to change it now. It feels like a clone of the old one because it is a clone of the old one. They are all clones of each other. It's just redone in every iteration of the games.

I wish they would make the shadows a lot more blurred, considering it's a cloudy day.

i hear you red but damn i've seen so much recycling of content from all the developers lately, and i hate to see valve doing the same thing. sure they are iconic maps and its fine to spend time on them but where are the truly original maps for their new game? and dont point to the new lake map, which appears to be a complete replica of a l4d finale.

Well there are going to be a few new maps for the game, at least for Arsenal mode. Those being so far: Shoots, which looks like something to do with a water tower, Baggage, which might be an Airport, Lake, which we have already, at, a lake, Safehouse, which is self explanitory, Sugarcane, which looks like it's in a warehouse, or at least part of it is, St. Marc which we have already, which is at a southen docks area, Bank, which is at a bank, and Short Train, which I guess is on a train or at a station.

So, there's 8 maps that are "new" right off the bat, take that however you want, rehashing L4D stuff regardless.

But I don't think Counter-Strike can be Counter-Strike without its classic maps.

I was hoping St. Marc would be the church from Condition Zero. :(

I'm too lazy to fix the tags so deal with it.

Was cs_siege an official map originally? I remember loving that map when I still played 1.6. There were a couple of decent remakes for Source, but they were never made official since Valve never did that kind of thing for CSS like they did for TF2. I think it'd be cool to see it appear in CS:GO.

And I wonder how cs_assault will look. It's another personal favorite of mine.

Yeah cs_siege was an official map, in really old versions it had a drivable APC. It wasn't a very good map though, trying to rescue the hostages was always a nightmare (mostly because the layout for the indoor section was terrible) - you'd have to hope everyone went to that central outdoor area and not camp.

Some of those pillars bother me, and the models that are obviously just thrown onto the corners. Otherwise it looks pretty good. I wonder what happens when you tazer people in the water. 0_o
