I'm glad you agree with me.

Shit, who wouldn't? Everything just looks...off. The outdoor lighting looks weird when you compare it to the overcast sky. The shadows are way too sharp. The indoors just look a bit clumsy I guess. Then again, it's probably hard to make a plain, boring office look detailed. But damn do those office desks look cheap and unconvincing. Why don't they just make models with more details at least?

They did accomplish the whole "depressing office work environment" pretty well though. I don't think I could stand working in a place like that for more than a week before blowing my brains out.

They may as well have literally ported it from CSS because it looked the same if not better in that.

Oh my God me and nub are so sorry for not keeping up with every post you ever make! Be happy that someone is agreeing with you and play nice.

Seriously though we could all do a better job than they have with office.

I am in the library of my university currently (saturday, DAFUQ?) and I am feeling equally bored by the new office shots as I am by the interior of this library. Meh.

I bet my office areas for my map are going to look better.

I am pretty sure about it. Cause my map will be 1 Gigabyte in file size and won't run on the consoles :smt021

Oh whatever ... I actually quite like it, Valve does obviously not want to change it a lot. The sharp shadows outside bother me most.

Perhaps their new system does only allow those sharp shadows? Or they just want to show off.

A big reason why they implemented dynamic shadows was because they wanted players to know when they were in the shadows so they could hide easily. They do look nice, but it depends on the setting. They should use strictly lightmaps outside of cs_office so they can get the broader, smoother shadows necessary for the overcast sky. Maybe if they can blend the dynamic shadows in seamlessly with the lightmaps, then they can still get that "strategic shadowing" thing they want without making the map look weird.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a while. How would the map size relate to the quality of the map? :smt021

It would be easy for them to make the shadows softer. AFAIK

Would that be blurring the shadows so they look awesome or would they be half blurred and have a weird pixleated edge? because if they can blur them easily and don'tend up doing it I'll be all kinds of mad
