Consortium Game Announced, Kickstarter Launched

Postby ad_hominem on Sat Dec 01, 2012 8:11 pm

This might be a bit out of our usual remit, but it's a Source game so what the heck. Consortium is a new Source engine game from developers Interdimensional Games Inc (who count resident lopers 1/4 Life and MrTwoVideoCards among their numbers).

WHAT IF you could take complete control of another human being? And what if that human being was a man destined to decide the fate of an alternate dimension? Speak for him, move for him, and be known as merciful and/or a killer, hero, liar, wild card...or perhaps the strong/silent type?

CONSORTIUM gives you that chance...

They've got a trailer showing off a unique art style, and a bit of what they're hoping will be a unique story-driven take on the FPS.

The team has also launched a Kickstarter campaign looking to further fund the development of the game, with the hefty goal of $200,000. You can find more information and gameplay footage in the pitch video there.

*Disclaimer* I am working on projects with MrTwoVideoCards, who in turn is working on Consortium. Once again, my corruption outs itself.

Looks very promising. Some of the art style they have gone with is questionable for me but I guess I got to wait to see more. Hope they reach their kickstarter budget, since I do hope it succeeds.

^My face during the trailer.
Looks pretty neat man. Intriguing design and pretty eye-drawing art design. I'm more than interested. Keep up the good work, looking forward to a release. :)
Contrary to popular belief, I am not actually a frog.

Looks interesting, why they are doing this on the source engine is kind of a waste of time. They could accomplish what they want with Unity and probably save a lot on costs for just using the engine. I don't fund Kickstarter projects anymore too many of them died and thanks for your money for nothing! :smt045 200,000 is far reaching as a goal, Insurgency 2 tried 180,000 and didn't come close to the goal... Good luck to them!
