Did you change it from debug to release and get the service pack? Also are you using 2010 or 2012 VS?

Does GUIStudioMDL need a new reference to studiomdl.exe? The old way to do it is quite straightforward but my "common" map doesn't have separate ep1/orangebox subdirectories anymore.

I've never messed around with Git before so I'm unsure on how to do that. I'll look into it and see if it's doable since the implementation uses 2007 code which has an odd license.

Yes it does. Well, old model formats can be loaded by newer engines. The new directory for studiomdl.exe would be \Steam\SteamApps\common\<game>\bin\

Ah, I have just about 5 minutes experience with Git myself so I'm of no help here.

I'd say Jonathan is most likely. Alfred doesn't touch the SDK stuff other than replying to a bunch of hlcoders mails as far as I've seen.

Thanks, I think its working. I let both the ep1 tool paths and Orange Box tool paths refer to the studiomdl.exe in common/half life 2/bin. It is compiling models although I get an error, but I suspect thats a result of my own work and not the program.
