Another update regarding HDR, a little video to watch but nothing you won't have seen already:

"We're getting much closer to having Lost Coast ready to release. Originally planned as a section of the Highway 17 chapter of Half-Life 2, Lost Coast is a playable technology showcase that introduces High Dynamic Range lighting to the Source engine."

I didn't seem that impressive. They should've had the player walking outside from a dark indoor enviroment to really show off what HDR can do. The news cleared some stuff up though. I guess you can include HDR into your mod and still have it playable by anyone. I was thinking that it would cause a lot of lag but since my video card doesn't support it it won't even show any HDR at all.

How did you come to that conclusion?

Everything is made differently for HDR, one prop takes like 5 times longer.

Basically if you did want to include it in a mod (presuming you'd be able to from a modding end) then it would take shitloads of effort. Probably the delay on DoD.

Mph i read in a half life 2 expansion preview that hdr would be able to be turned on and off in the options...so i gues it will be the same for mods O_O.

Things have to be made differently to support HDR, so it won't quite be that simple unfortunatly.
