Wretched Abandon Site Launched!

Postby EatChildren on Mon Jul 18, 2005 1:40 pm

The Wretched Abandon team has finally completed their very sexy new website, this class-based-three-way-brawl mod is set as an interstellar conflict between the Earth forces, Moon colonists and Mars colonists.

"Welcome! We're proud to finally announce the launch of the Wretched Abandon homepage!

Unfortunately you may be a little disappointed as, for a launch; we do not have a lot of media for show. Fear not, as it does exist. It simply needs some fine tuning and preparation before we let it loose. When the time comes I'm sure you'll all be impressed.

Here is some media from the site:

Nice site!

I was on this team when it was first formed (we originally were together to work on Perfect Dark: Source) but I left the team to pursue my own interests (my mod Xenos) and because I thought it was way too ambitious.

It's looking good though and I really hope they can achieve their goals and get this mod out because it's looking excellent.

hah, I recognize your map mate, that was your competition map... can't remember what your nick on Halflife2.net was though

That's what I kind of am skeptical about, they've got plenty of designers and concept artists and whatnot but no coder and only one level designer... easy to design mods like that, hard to actually make them.

The current ambitions for the project are much smaller than what was initially planned. Our current plans and work technically stems no further than other TCs such as Badge of Blood, Dystopia, etc.

Thanks for the kind comments though, all of you.

Badge of Blood is a massive project with a dedicated development team, and Dystopia is also an extremely large modification with quite a bit of work done. I'm only playing devil's advocate here though.

I can see the comparisons that can be drawn with Badge of Blood, although I don't see much between Dystopia and Wretched Abandon. Dystopia seems more anime-cyberpunk-esque. Inspired by the likes of Ghost in The Shell. Whilst Wretched Abandon is more realistic in a sense of setting the story. (Of course, men living on mars and the moon isn't that realistic, but I think you get my point )
