Some new character model screenshots have been hurled out by the guys behind Plan of Attack:

"We've been working on updating our player characters for our next beta release. I'm happy to show some current work-in-progress shots of the new American and Coalition soldiers."

PoA is most definitely the biggest CS ripoff mod I've ever played.

I don't think it's a CSS ripoff. I think it's a very good mod. They put a lot of hard work into it, so top putting it down because they're using CSS content until they get the new content finished!

These models look very nice BTW. :P The map also looks great. I hope this'll be an actual map for the next release.

You can't create any type of modern day tactical shooter without someone claiming it's a counter - strike clone.

that's because Counter-Strike is the modern day tactical shooter.

not much tactics are involved in CSS anyhow

any the only reason people think its a ripoff is because they have the same models as in cs... :-D

it's hardly a tactical shooter, it's more of a modern day action shooter.

Anyway, I think the reason PoA started with this idea is because they saw CS was popular and wanted to cash in on it. But seriously, if you're going to make a mod that you want people to be interested in, you either make a generic mod, or try something really cool that basically forms a cult around you (a la garry's mod)
the PoA team apprently didn't think much about it and just went with the generic modern day shooter that everyone else is also doing (and has hardly done).

I dont recall CS ever asking you to capture a command point. It feels more like the on-foot sections of battlefield. Having played it for a good while now I feel its most certainly not a CS clone.

As for Cs in regards to tactical shooters, its got room for clans/teams to be tactical, but you have to admit its limited to "which of the three ways shall I go this time". You want a tactical shooter try Battlefield 2 or operation flashpoint.
