From glorious to frivilous. The one aspect I focused on learning well was the cyberspace. I know the layout, I know which functions are where, I know where to hit the jump button to avoid having to trek up jump pads and walls... But what happened yesterday?

On a standard defensive run Id just eliminated the opponent hacker and recieved a request to open the back door. run bounce hop and im there, one look at the panel and the doors already bloody open, waste of energy. The guy then starts spamming the request in defiance of logic. Calls me an idiot for not opening an already open door, then when I step out of cyberspace hes standing behind me...

How in hell does he know if the door is or isnt open when hes only just left spawn?

I cant wait for locked servers :?

There is a real problem with nub hackers, I had one demanding I get out of cyberspace because I was doing something wrong according to him, he wanted me to go to the red room (with the spawn control) even though you couldn't reach it from that terminal. I did have some fun rubbing it in on him when he realised he couldn't reach it too.

if your on the blue team you can reach any area in cyberspace, but on the red team(i'm bad with names sorry) you can only go to the one corresponding to that terminal, maybe that was wath got him confused :P

Would be nicer to reach em all for one terminal, the energy drain rate is such that if you used the spawn terminal you'd get to the far room just in time to be defeated by an ICEbarrier... Might be used in different levels I suppose...

that would be to easy for the red guys i think. It they get 2 guys decking they could pretty much win the match with just one strike.
Theres a implant that adds 25 energy wich is very usefull for a decker, it allows you to do evrything you need in jsut 2 cyberspace travels. If your fast enough that is(as in you dont have to way for something to finish to do another one)

We actually had this in an early build during our beta. What we found was that a punk hacker could do all the cyberspace objectives while safely away from the action, way back near the first spawn.

Since the central idea of Dystopia is that the meatspace players need to protect their decker, while he hacks things to allow them to progress forwards in the level; we added the impassable firewalls. These force the decker to jack out and run forward to the next terminal, upping the risk and therefore the tension of the game.

What many people fail to realise is that you can do many things at once in cyberspace, while I see people only do things lone at a time.

Ok cool, nice to know it was thought out :-D

The thing is Kelikan yes you can slap down more than one program but the energy drain is increased when you do it so as long as you've got proteciton from being shot in the back you end up with more energy one at a time...

wath i do is, if when i get in, there is a enemy there, i kill him (if i can) and then press F1 to get out of cyberspace, that way i would have more energy them him so I will recharge faster. So after i recharge hopefully i have enough time to get in and brake all the protections, i try o hide while the programs are runing, and never attack to save my energy. after the programs finish i get out, recharge just a bit more(like 35 or 40) and get back in to open the doors or wathever is the objective. After this if your lucky your team can storm in and give some troubles to the other team decker, giving you enough time to re-encrypt and password the objectives.
This means im getting to adicted to this mod, and should stop playing it now :P
